California Privacy Notice
Last updated: January 1, 2026
This notice supplements our Privacy Policy and applies only to California residents. It is provided to comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 (collectively, the "CCPA").
The short version: If you live in California, you have the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information. We do not sell your information for money. We do honor opt-out requests for cross-context behavioral advertising. Use the form below or email [email protected].
1. Categories of personal information we collect
In the past twelve (12) months, we have collected the following categories of personal information about California consumers:
- Identifiers: First name, phone number, IP address, online identifiers
- Customer records: Information you provide to our agents during the call (zip code, dental need, insurance carrier)
- Internet or other electronic activity: Browsing history on the Site, ad-click sources, interaction data
- Geolocation: Approximate location derived from IP address or zip code you provide
- Audio: Recordings of calls to our referral line, where applicable and consented to
- Inferences: Inferences drawn from the above to characterize your dental need (for example, "emergency caller" vs. "general checkup")
We do not intentionally collect "sensitive personal information" as defined by the CCPA (such as Social Security number, financial account details, biometric information, or precise geolocation). If you voluntarily share such information with our agents, we treat it with reasonable care and limit its use to providing the Service.
2. Sources of personal information
- Directly from you (when you call or interact with the Site)
- Automatically through cookies and similar technologies
- From advertising and analytics partners (e.g., Google, Microsoft) and affiliate publishers
3. Purposes for which we use personal information
- To connect you with a participating dental practice
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Site and Service
- To measure marketing performance and optimize advertising
- To detect and prevent fraud and security incidents
- To comply with legal obligations
4. Categories of recipients
In the past twelve (12) months, we have disclosed personal information to:
- Participating dental practices (to fulfill your referral)
- Service providers (call-tracking platforms, hosting, analytics, fraud-prevention vendors)
- Advertising partners (for ad measurement and optimization — using hashed or limited identifiers, not your name or phone number)
- Government authorities, where legally required
5. "Sale" and "sharing" under the CCPA
We do not sell your personal information for monetary consideration. However, the CCPA defines "sale" broadly and "sharing" to include certain disclosures to third-party advertising partners that may be considered cross-context behavioral advertising. To the extent any of our cookie-based advertising activities qualify as "sharing" under the CCPA, you may opt out using the methods below.
6. How to exercise your rights
California residents may exercise the following rights, free of charge and without retaliation:
- Right to know — what personal information we collect, use, disclose, or share
- Right to delete — request deletion of personal information we have collected from you
- Right to correct — request correction of inaccurate personal information
- Right to opt out — of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information — though we do not knowingly collect SPI, you may still submit this request
- Right to non-discrimination — we will not deny you service, charge different prices, or provide different quality because you exercised a privacy right

Our Site recognizes the Global Privacy Control browser signal. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a valid request to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can learn more and enable GPC at globalprivacycontrol.org.
Authorized agents
You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. The agent must provide written authorization signed by you and we may need to verify your identity directly.
7. Retention
We retain personal information only as long as necessary to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Call recordings are typically retained for up to 12 months. Web analytics data is typically retained for up to 26 months. We dispose of personal information securely once it is no longer needed.
