Our story

Detective Dental is a service of HyperTarget Marketing, LLC, a Texas-based performance marketing company founded in 2009 in Austin. HyperTarget Marketing has worked at the intersection of consumer demand and local services for 17 years — and Detective Dental applies that experience to dental referrals.

We started in dental for a simple reason: it's a category where speed matters. A toothache at 9 p.m. on a Sunday isn't just an inconvenience — it's pain, lost sleep, missed work, sometimes a real medical issue. Most people don't have a dentist on speed-dial, and searching online for "emergency dentist near me" returns a wall of paid ads with no clear answer about who's actually open, who takes their insurance, and who has time to see them today.

We thought: a real person, a real phone line, and a network of independent local dental offices would solve that. So we built it.

How the service works

It's intentionally simple:

1. You call us at 1-888-771-7431 — no charge.
2. An agent answers and asks a few quick questions: your ZIP code and what kind of dental help you need.
3. We help connect you with a participating independent dental office near you.
4. You speak with the dental office directly about insurance, pricing, scheduling, and any clinical questions.

That's the basic flow. No forms required to start.

Our partner network

We aim to work with dental offices, call centers, and marketing partners that can help callers connect with independent dental practices. Where we work directly with dental practices, we may review basic business information, but callers should confirm credentials, pricing, insurance acceptance, and availability directly with the provider.

We do not supervise the clinical care provided by independent dental offices, and we do not guarantee, endorse, certify, or rank any provider. We encourage every caller to confirm a provider's credentials, ask any questions about cost and treatment, and make their own informed decision before agreeing to any procedure.

How we make money

We're transparent about this because we think you should know: our service is free for callers. We may be paid by participating dental practices, call centers, or marketing partners when we help connect callers — typically a flat per-referral fee or a participation fee. The model goes back decades in the consumer-services category. We make our money by being useful — if callers don't have a good experience, partners stop working with us. So our incentive is aligned with yours.

We do not charge callers, and we do not sell your information to unrelated third-party marketers. We may share limited information with the dental office, call center, or marketing partner we connect you with so they can help with your request. Languages we speak

Detective Dental is a fully bilingual service. Our agents take calls in English and Spanish, and we maintain a separate Spanish-language site at detectivedental.com/es. Roughly a quarter of the people who call us prefer Spanish, and that share has grown every year since we started — so the bilingual experience isn't an afterthought; it's core to what we do.

Where we operate

Dental referrals may be available in many areas across the U.S.; availability varies by location. Our partner network is densest in major metropolitan areas, but we have participating dental offices in some smaller markets as well. If we don't have a partner in your area, we'll tell you on the call rather than wasting your time.

Our standards

We maintain internal compliance practices for consumer privacy, call recording, advertising disclosures, and opt-out requests, and we review those practices periodically. We're members in good standing of Entrepreneurs' Organization (EO).

Leadership

Detective Dental is led by Eric Evans, founder and CEO of HyperTarget Marketing. Eric has spent 17 years in performance marketing and call routing, working with hundreds of advertisers and publishers across consumer-services categories. He's based in Austin, Texas.
